I think the root of all our problems is that we don’t want to be alone. We put ourselves out there, trying to find someone who’ll make it okay. Hurt after hurt, disappointment after disappointment, we pick ourselves up. We keep trying until it finally hits us: maybe there isn’t someone for everyone. Maybe all the heartache was for nothing.

I’m sick of having all these people pretend they care about me. They tell me all these things, and I’m stupid enough to believe their words, their promises, and care about them too. Just do us both a favor, and leave. I’m getting tired of just believing in something that isn’t real.
